We have been trough 15 days in 2008. At the end of last year or at the beginning of 2008, most people did self-evaluation and most of us make a list which is contain of resolution for New Year or even a wish list. At the end of the year we will evaluate it again and decide “our work contract” for the New Year. Again and again… every year.

1. Do you aware of the evaluation result?
2. Have you achieve all goal setting?
3. If you didn’t achieve all, how many did you achieve?
4. How do you act regarding that? Take it easy or you will continue your remain resolution to the next year for accomplishment?
5. How hard actually your willingness to establish your own resolution?

Usually some of our goals were not achieved. Some circumstances distracted it. Some people just act to take easy for unessential things. But how about the important things. Don’t they have possibility to fail to do too? Of course. To avoid it happens, we have to make all resolutions/goals as our behaviors. By this way, you are not focusing on your goals but you have to focus on maintaining behavior. By maintaining your behavior, it will lead you to the end of your journey, i.e.; your goals (resolutions).

Re-affirmation of your objectives is necessary. We have to remind our self in a certain period. For an important objective we can remind our self every day for example. It is not necessary to wait for until end of year to remind and asking our selves with those questions above. We can do it frequently as much as we like. Also we can ask somebody to discuss about the plan. Their feedback will bring us much closer to the goals. Please be noted, the feedback is like a breakfast for champions. Then utilize the feedback positive or negative to improve our self. By the way don’t put the negative feedback deeply. Don’t be an elephant which is has strong memory about it. Forget it after you get the points for your improvement. To motivate our self, we can write it and read it several times. One by one the goals will be achieved. It is suggested to reward ourselves each we success to reach our resolution.

Also, it is necessary to encourage our self to add value for every action. If you can develop a machine block in three days, while you are targeted to complete it in five days, why don’t you do in three days? It is an added value. You exceed the target, and it is great work.

We already work hard. We are already tried our best, but we still could not achieve our objectives. Then we should evaluate our selves. Sometimes, if everything is going well but we still could not achieve our objective, then we have to remember that human only make plans and God will decide it.

Keywords;
- resolutions
- behavior
- maintain
- evaluate
- re-affirm
- feed back
- motivation
- add value

January 15th, 2008…improve and improve!

Our COO said, languages are like muscle: If they are not used, they forget what to do and how to do it. He strongly believe this is (sort of English day) a very good practice that will pay dividens in the future.

Absolutely, I agree… since my English is not perfect I encourage my self to learning and practice, this blog is a way to realize my efforts.. and also everyone… I encourage you too…

Here are the tips;-don’t be affraid to get wrong, make it easy and fun. You just need to start with your vocabulary collection, practice to arrange a simple sentence, pronounce it, see the movies in English often and avoid to use subtitle, and change your mindset.. such as English is your mother tongue…

Frankly speaking, I am a kind person who easily forgets someone’s name. Better for me to remember a place name, streets name, a location, even a map rather than my class mate in junior school or my new colleague’s name. Well, I take it easy all my life for this but sometime I really need to remember someone’s name directly and correctly… so today I decide to seek the solutions.

I got an article which is written by Kate Lorenz for CareerBuilder.com (that I should thanks her for the tips). The title is Seven Tricks to Remembering Names. It sound simple.. only seven tricks then taraa… I remember everyone’s. Well if you want to know it sort of…

Be interested, because at the moment they are introduced, actually many of us don’t even catch that.. because for me *umm … I think I little bit focused to my self *

Verify what she or he wishes to be called

Picture the name written across their forehead, It is interesting to know that Franklin Roosevelt continually amazed his staff by remembering the names of nearly everyone he met. According to Kate Lorenz his secret is He used to imagine seeing the name written across the person’s forehead. This is a particularly powerful technique if you visualize the name written in your favorite color of Magic Marker. So next time if you see me, you are allowed imagining my name written across my forehead.

Imagine writing the name, to take step three even further, neural linguistic programming experts suggest getting a feel for what it would be like to write the name by moving your finger in micro-muscle movements as you are seeing the name and saying it to yourself.

Relate the name, it suggested to associate a person’s name with a familiar image or famous person or something that usually identical to him or her. For example, I will imagine Richard with Richard Gere, or I will imagine my sist with the poem because if you see her blog you will find her lovely poem.

Use it frequently, try to use the name three or four times during your conversation. Use it when you first meet, when you ask a question and in your departure.

Record the name in a “new contacts” file.

Thinking of it, I will start to use those tricks especially for the first trick. This is another problem of me, paying attention more intensively to catch the other’s name right after introduction.. Otherwise I have to pretend that I get what they have mentioned.. That’s so so very tired right?
