At Blümchen

May 3rd, 2011 § Leave a Comment

I am sitting in Blümchen coffee  shop since 3:20 p.m.

For seconds since I entered this place, I saw there are three guest, all are men who sat separately.  I decided to sit in the corner. I saw a set of high table with three chairs in the back of the shop. I sat there and started to prepare my laptop. They were playing the music from a CD, it’s jazz. I like it.

A minute later after the barista asked my order,  I looked at around the shop and found  that this coffee shop is unique. The owner decorated this place with some stuffs that relates with coffee, such as coffee posters, antique grinder on the wall and coffee machines. I think the owner also loves vespa — scooter from Italia. There are two scooters, the red one in front area and the white one behind me.  Uhm, first time you enter this place you will see a big black coffee cup logo in the glass door and the red scooters in the right of the entrance. The barista’s corner is in the left of the entrance.

Every I go to a coffee shop, I will always pay attention to the interior. I love a homey coffee shop. This ambiance could be developed by the interior particularly the way they choose the coffee table set and the floor. Yup, the old antique ceramic tiles will make me feel like at granny’s house and it makes me comfort.  In here the ceramic tiles are not so old and antique but the wood texture on its surface looks nice and match with the surrounding.

In five minutes , I hear a guy who sits in front of me asking the bill. The servant comes in and he pays in silent. No more conversations. In another chair under the station clock, a man begins to receive the phone. He speaks quite loud. There is a moment of silent and then he continues to work with his laptop.

Ten minutes later. My espresso comes, my observation is finish. I start to work and connect to the wifi then I only hear people come and go. Sometimes I see them from the corner of my eyes.

Now 6:42 p.m. I already moved  to the couch adjacent to my place before and now I have an Americano.  I am waiting for a friend and then I will leave this shop.  You know what, I do love black coffee without sugar because it makes everything clearer for me. Here, they have house blended, a combination from local coffee. I love my espresso too today, it was Sumatra Lintong,  delicious! I think I will be back again here someday. :)
