Awareness for Everyone

After holiday! A reconciliation has been made, an half day meeting, all department heads was invited by the Director and our COO. Yup, you might guess this is about global economics awareness since we face delicate situation. Some companies are in an unfortunate situation now, especially those who have lend money in US Dollars and invest and gain revenue in Rupiah. Thanks God, our group has an excellent fundamental, and have no external financing currently, but still we have to be aware to our liquidity during this critical situation. We are sailing to typhoon, though. The captain must make sure that every necessary action should be done before we really face the storm. Our COO (an American) said, “Don’t worry, the group commits to keep the employee during the crisis, but the bule will be first to sign out while unfortunate condition happen.” Surely it’s just a joke and everyone laughed.

I’d like to share a bit of knowledge, what we are going to do to face this storm but it will so technically and sshh it’s a secret. But my friends, as a personal we have to prepare our selves. My basic suggestions are: – review your expenses, review your financial plan for the rest of this year and your 2009’s plan, freeze all non essentials travel and expenses, hold your wish list. At the other side, an opportunity is wide open for the risk taker the stock market is like “Lebaran sale”, but before you invest in something just make sure you really aware the basic philosophy of investment. High risk high profit, low risk low profit and be careful. On 1997 monetary crisis, the small and medium enterprises were proven, they were strong enough, resist and survive as well. How about the coming year? I don’t know, I can’t predict. Hopefully this nation could face it much better.

After meeting, the director asked some people include me for lunch. Interesting offer. Hmm… I am sorry to refuse her this time. I choose to go back to my workspace to prepare this entry for you. ;)
